It was 3:49 p.m., and I had finished my golf round minutes before the rain started to pour down at Champions Gate Golf Club. The cart attendant drove the clubs immediately to the front and I sprinted into the golf shop, this club had all the amenities including a shower and lounge area to relax, before leaving to the resort. I only cleaned up my face and added my Star Wars hoodie, before my drive into Magic Kingdom. I did debate for a few minutes whether I should return to the resort for a workout, my initial idea was to “Break 80” and then ride atleast seven rides. Two before dinner, and five after. Lost in a dream, about entering the magical theme park. The rain had now picked up and was falling heavily on the car window, I even recall saying “I thought it was rain or shine not raining cats and dogs.” Finally I had arrived and entered the park, I settled for the “Scar” parking lot, I reminded my cousin on the way out who he was, “The bad guy in Lion King.” Thankfully the rained had slowed down and it was time for my prescription, OG Kush or Kingdom Dreamz, being that I was entering Magic Kingdom, “Kingdom Dreamz” was the blatant decision. The ride in stayed hot, when the trolley was waiting for me with wide open seats – the trolley must have had a tracking device, that informs park officials when visitors arrive, because I seamlessly was minutes away from entering Walt Disney’s billion dollar playground. So, I had finished my golf round at Champions Gate, didn’t “Break 80,” and now approaching the holy grail of baby boom childs, “Magic Kingdom”, this meant “Go Ahead and behave like a child”. The lines were long and angry, the rain had caused delays to some rides but “Fantasy Land” rides were operating and my first ride was the “Goofy” ride. Next, I decided to use strategy, ride a popular ride, with a linger line, before dinner. The “Seven Dwarfs” ride, behind the “Goff Cartography” stand, that was closed, for some reason it caught my attention, the ride was fast and and dark, the dark element prevents the visitor from knowing the path of the ride, which added a more difficult element to the ride. After a 45 minute wait, I was in the front, the wooden gate opened and I sat on the inside, beside one other person. Two 15’ drops and 12 intense cool running curves later the ride was over, I began running to make it to dinner. I had arrived to Edison’s with time to spare, the rest of my party was on their way, so I debated, if I should continue to roll or have a beer. I settled for the beer and resting my body, before the second half of rides. “Tron” and “Pirates of the Caribbean” were the rides, after discussing with my cousin on what to do after onion rings and “big melt burgers,” she already experienced the “Tron” ride. Once again “Tron” was an hour wait and an intense ride, even more intense than Seven Dwarfs with drops that measure 20’ and lightning speeds aboard the lightcycle that passes 8 fierce energy gates. I wasn’t able to complete the full seven rides, but with the ferry ride back to the front gate and two more trolley rides back to “Scar”, it would be good enough. The trip was a recollect of what I thought, I would be and never became. Have a family and take trips to Disney, I hadn’t seen or heard from Disney for twenty years. This time I left a bit disappointed, but with a new point of view and visual perspective of Disney. I took photos, waited lines, and walked on three different Land’s. The next stop for SSOD would be a Sasha and Digweed Resistance Underground concert at the famous Mansion Nightclub on South Beach. The last time SSOD saw them was also 15 years ago. The extended set at Resistnace Miami is preview, before Ultra 2025. I should only post videos and galleries, but maybe will add captions.
