The idea was to clock out at 11pm from work and clock in at 11pm for Kaskade at Story Nightclub. This was also the same nightclub I was going to watch Deadmau5 close Art Basel in.

But this was Kaskade’s Art Basel night, with the fair hosting over 250 premier galleries from 38 countries and territories, Art Basel was once again presenting art-goers with emerging artists and collections. The young adult EDM crowd would be traveling to Miami Beach, renting suites with 24 hour food service while enjoying invigorating exhibitions that balance their rapid 9-5 work life with drawings filled with spontaneous expressionism and emotional abstract paintings. Kaskade adds the same artistic approach to his DJ sets with illuminating lights and graphical texts with the use of his artist name. Club LED displays generate shapes and mosaic patterns flowing frame by frame with the music, cinematic moments are constantly at stake.

Kaskade hit the stage at around 1:40 am, of course leading with “Escape.” His set went in for 3 hours, after the first hour I was able to hear more of the music he had played at his current live events at Daisy Carnival and Tommorowland.
